The Village Events and Animation Director is responsible for creating and implementing the heart and soul in the Village at Canyons, through daily, weekly and annual events and animation for visitors to the Canyons. The Director is also responsible for marketing these events in a way that will encourage as much participation as possible, recognizing that bringing the right people to the Village both summer and winter and keeping them captive will drive many business units, from retail to food and beverage to hotel/ski visits and real estate. S/he will partner with key stakeholders from marketing, lodging, food and beverage, retail, ski operations and the RVMA in implementing the events and animation in the Village. The Village Events and Animation is the top ambassador at the Canyons for village life and experience.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Event Planning and Execution: Plan and execute a successful events and animation program at the Village to drive guest experience and ancillary businesses at the Canyons. Co-ordinate volunteer help as needed. Create daily, weekly and annual village-based experiences and rituals in and around the village. 2. Events Budget Management: Build an achievable budget to execute events and animation. Stay on budget targets in executing the role. Forecast future budgets for events and animation.3. PURPOSE OF JOB: The Director of Lodging, Hospitality, and Food & Beverage Marketing role will provide strategic and practical support in the creation, production, and distribution of marketing and merchandising materials for departments, including but not limited to lodging sales, group and conference sales, hospitality services, owner services, food and beverage, ski school, spa, and Waldorf Astoria Park City. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Work with various department heads to develop individual tactical marketing/merchandising plans (business briefs).2. Provide project management support on the creation, production, and distribution of all lodging department marketing and merchandising materials for such departments as lodging, group and conference sales, owner services, food and beverage, ski school, spa, Waldorf Astoria, and other departments as assigned.3. Provide cross-promotional material to be used across all platforms and provide education to all staff on all such related materials.4. Provide primary education to outside agencies, freelance creative, internal creative, printers and production houses on the creative development and production of the various departments' materials.5. Ensure that the brand integrity is maintained in the production of all marketing and communication materials. 6. Work directly with internal web team and individual lodging departments to ensure the accuracy of online content.7. Maintain and develop marketing assets including photography, video footage, and artwork.8. Generate weekly project status reports/timelines to track the progress on individual projects.9. Provide individual project budgets and work with group administration to process all invoices in a timely manner.10. In conjunction with various department leads, develop public relations, advertising, promotion, co-op partnership programs, e-marketing and database management strategies that will enhance both revenues.11. Place special emphasis on resort website, assure website is exciting, eye catching, and user friendly. 12. Chair weekly (or possibly bi-monthly) marketing meetings with key department heads to brainstorm future initiatives, analyze marketing requests from lodging department heads, present updates on "in the pipeline" projects, lead branding discussions, and analyze off-peak time frames to determine if a program or initiative might enhance revenues.13. Maintain marketing, promotions, and event calendar in order to be able to direct marketing resources toward initiatives in a strategic manner far enough out to maximize the revenue impact, avoiding a last minute approach.14. Attend weekly sales meetings to determine how marketing can support direct sales initiatives.15. Take on role of "brand cop" by assuring that all programs are planned and executed within a set of marketing principles, allowing the resort to maintain its promise to the member/guest.16.
